Storylines and a Ficlet
Author: Pip
Pairing: Billy/Dom
Rating: PG-13?

I posted the meme You give me the title to a story I didn't write (or that no one wrote, it doesn't have to be a real title to anything), and I'll give you a synopsis of what the story would be, were it written by me.

Then I wrote the storylines, and in one case, a ficlet called A Few of My Favourite Places.

starring Billy and Dom, obviously, but with a dash of Elijah.
I do believe it was(n't) NC-17.

Ah, yes. This is the one where Dom decides all he truly needs in life is Billy's bare bottom--quite a romantic start really, with Dom declaring his love and all, but it takes a rapid turn for teh sex0rs when he gets his hands on said behind. Billy discovers he quite enjoys his bahookie being stroked and petted and caressed, and--on very rare occasions--spanked. It's just unfortunate that it's that exact activity that Elijah walks in on.

I recall copious amounts of sand in my bikini, and sadly, that's it. You think I'd at least remember the rentboys. Sheesh.

Billy Boyd and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is one of those stories that makes you chuckle out loud in sympathy for the hero. Billy wakes up late in the morning because his alarm clock is broken, and so is his hot water heater, and when he gets to makeup one of his ears is missing and there's a long delay while they fetch a new pair, and there's no porridge. Things like this continue all day until poor Billy is ready to scream or cry or break something, or quite possibly all three at once, and when he finally gets home at ten o'clock that night, all he wants to do is curl up in bed and never face the world again.

Luckily for him, Dom is home from the South Island, and suddenly maybe it's an okay day after all.

What the Praying Mantis (in Dom's Terrarium) Saw. Well, that one's a straight (ha ha) PWP, isn't it? From the POV of the preying mantis, naturally, who muses on the absurdities of the human race and their bizarre penchant for not devouring each other when they've finished...erm...devouring each other.

Ke Makalapua Kauwahi (The Beautiful Place) is a lovely, soft piece about Dom and Billy and the relationship that's slowly grown between them. It's a tale of learning and loving and friendship, of comfort and support, and of homecoming.

Ooooh, The Unbearable Rightness of Billy is a good story! That's the one where Dom gets really frustrated and annoyed that Billy is always right. No matter what he says, or suggests, or teases, he's always right. And it's not that he's obnoxious about it, either, that's the worst part, because Dom can't even give him a good bollocking for being a prat. He's still good, kind, sweet-natured Billy, and he's just...right. And then Billy starts acting funny, he's touchy-feely, and he doesn't need to ask Dom how he's feeling because he knows, and brings Dom things before Dom even asks for them. And just when Dom is beginning to be frustrated by this even more than Billy always being right, Billy pulls Dom into his lap and hugs him and kisses him, and Dom's no longer frustrated because he realizes that Billy is right. But this time, that's okay.

The Dark Side of the Moon is an angsty little piece. Dom is in LA after the end of Rings and he just can't shake the depression that's assailed him. He knows that's what it is, he knows he has to fight it, has to do what he can to keep going, but he just doesn't have the energy. Billy calls once in a while to see how everything is going, but Dom just can't bring himself to talk about it all over the phone. It would be different if Billy were there, but over the phone it's too difficult and too humiliating to admit that he can't cope. So he just keeps on suffering in silence.

There is, of course, an optional happy ending to that story for those who can't take unhappy endings. And it consists of Billy showing up at the door. :D

Supplement is the title of the epilogue to Anyone Have a Scottish-English Dictionary?, of course. Elijah receives a mysterious package in the mail, wrapped in brown paper with scribbles and strange drawings all over it. He's a little hesitant to open it until he notices a short note on the back in Billy's familiar handwriting. The note simply says, "As promised. Swot up." Elijah's not sure what 'swot' means, but he's a bit more comfortable opening the package. When he does, he discovers a neat hand-bound little booklet (Billy's doing, no doubt) of words and their definitions--his Scottish-English dictionary. In it are all the ones he's heard Billy use, but also many others he hasn't, and if he were just a little less used to the pair of them, he'd be blushing furiously. Then he notices little drawings (courtesy Dom, who else?) depicting some of the words, and he does blush. Elijah then calls them up and has a short, slow conversation in Scottish with Billy.

Adonis Blue is a strange little piece, written in a very fluid, almost stream-of-consciousness manner. Billy reclines on the beach watching as Dom surfs in the crystal aqua water in Hawaii, and his thoughts weave and wander all over the place even though his focus is always on Dom, and he remembers Dom right from the very day they met and how he was this dark, energetic, hectic boy, but he'd grown and developed into this confident, laid back, blonde man with eyes that skewered Billy every time he tried to pretend there was nothing--never had been anything--between them, no matter what he actually felt deep in his gut. And then Billy finds himself waist-deep in the ocean and somehow Dom is in his arms, against him, kissing.

Back to do the others later. :D

Shopping At Whizzo's is my one and only Monaboyd/HP crossover, where Billy, sick of being the butt of Dom's practical jokes and piss-taking, goes shopping at Fred and George Weasley's joke shop, now called Whizzo's. He solicits Fred & George's expert advice on how to get someone really, really good, and the brothers are only too happy to comply for this cute, hot Scottish man who's wandered into their store. They fall all over themselves to give him candies that will turn Dom's boogers bright purple, soup that will cause smoke to pour out of Dom's ears, and a potion that will make blue hair sprout thickly over Dom's entire body for an entire day. Billy, not wanting to hurt Dom, double-checks whether they can be used simultaneously or not. Fred and George are impressed.

The Price of a Pig I'm going to have to ponder on for a bit. :D

Dirty Dream Number Two

Virtue and Wine

The Night You Can't Remember

Feb. 27th, 2006 pippinmctaggart wrote:
Dirty Dream Number Two is quite porny, really. :D Dom can't quite remember dirty dream number one. He knows it had something to do with Billy (of course) and bare skin and hands and mouths and raspberry flavoured lube and stretching joyful pain, but it's just a series of tantalizing images flashing behind his eyes.

But dirty dream number two, well, that's another story entirely. With complete and utter clarity--like it had actually happened and only five minutes ago--Dom can recall the taste of Billy's cock in his mouth, the thickness of Billy's come on his tongue, the cold night air beside the ocean. He can remember the texture of the sand under his knees and the partially-welcome pain of Billy's hands fisting in his hair, and he can hear the moans and whispered obscenities and his own name tumbling from Billy's lips.

When Billy drops in for a little Playstation that evening, it's all Dom can do not to drop to his knees and beg to suck his best mate off.

Virtue and Wine is about Billy. Dom too, in a distant sort of way, but mostly Billy. It's about the facade that Billy puts on for the rest of the world when he starts to drown. Most of the time, Billy is a happy, cheerful bloke, but like everyone else he has his bad days. He'll be glad (only not really) when Rings is over and he can go home; at home, he can shut himself away for a few days at a time when things are their worst, and emerge like the sun after a storm when it's all over. It's hard keeping that facade in front of Dom, though--especially when Billy's been drinking. When he's drowning and he lets himself drink (even though he knows it's a bad idea) he wants to shout and rage and put his fist through something, and only the barest thread of control survives the wine and keeps him from doing anything worse than getting pissy and tossing things around with more force than is strictly necessary. Dom has learned to see these days coming, even if he doesn't know why or what they mean. He just waits them out, patience and friendship and genuine love, and when Billy is back to being his normal sunny self neither of them mention the dark days; the two men just grow closer, and stronger, and so firm in standing together that nothing could break their worth.

The Night You Can't Remember is a silly little tale, but fun. :P Billy, Dom and Elijah get Orli pissed off his face, dress him up in girl's clothes, put makeup on him, and take compromising photos of him. They are careful to clean him up properly afterward so he's not onto them the second he looks in a mirror, and they don't breathe a word the next day while Orli is recovering from the hangover to end all hangovers. In fact, it's a week before they mail him the first photo. Predictably, Orli goes off his nut, but it's not until he starts finding other photos posted everywhere around the trailers, in the canteen, everywhere, that he really loses it. Finally they boys take pity on him (well, not so much pity as that they run out of photos) and stop hiding them everywhere and take him out and get him pissed again on their dime, and other than the odd person still calling him 'Chiquita Marguerita', Orli is finally able to forget all about the night he can't remember.

Ta da! Hee, this is a fun meme. :D :D :D

Why Billy Can't Sleep

A Few of My Favorite Places

Naked Day!!!

Feb. 27th, 2006 pippinmctaggart wrote:
May I just say I love your titles? :D

Why Billy Can't Sleep is a short but sweet story about Billy not being able to fall asleep one night because Dom has been away for a week and Billy is lonely and misses having Dom in his bed. Normally Dom goes to bed first thanks to his shooting schedule, and by the time Billy pads in, he's stretched out over almost the entire bed, the covers underneath him and his head on Billy's pillow. Billy always undresses by the dim light of a tiny bedside lamp that Dom has left on for him, then sits on the edge of the bed beside Dom and gently rubs his back, his arms, his head, slowly working him over to the other side of the bed all the while. Billy works the covers free, carefully transfers Dom's heavy head to his own pillow, and then crawls in. Despite not waking at all during all of that, the second Billy is comfortably settled on his side, Dom rolls over and spoons up against his back, and Billy falls asleep with an arm over his ribs weighting him down. But after a week of Dom being away, Billy misses their little ritual so much that sleep simply will not come to him, and he buries his face in Dom's pillow, wondering if it would help to smother himself to unconsciousness. He jumps a mile when the bed dips beside him and a gentle hand starts to rub his back, his arms, his head, slowly working him over to the other side of the bed. He whispers Dom's name, but is shushed, stroked, soothed. When Dom slides into the bed beside him and tugs the covers out from under Billy, Billy rolls over to spoon him tightly, kissing the nape of his neck. And after a few moments, Billy can't sleep for an entirely different reason.

In Naked Day!!!, Dom declares a secret national holiday. When Billy asks him what nation and how is it going to be kept secret, Dom kisses him hard to shut him up, and then proceeds to strip and throw his clothes up in the air. Despite some valiant and suspiciously ineffectual struggling on Billy's part, Dom manages to pull off all Billy's clothes as well, and then he leans in to whisper in Billy's ear. "Shh," he says. "Don't tell anyone, but it's Naked Day!" He then proceeds to show Billy how to properly celebrate this wondrous holiday. First, they play Naked Hide-and-go-seek. Billy winds up chasing Dom around in an impromptu game of Naked Tag, which ends when Billy manages to grab Dom's naked bottom. They have naked French Fries and naked cake for lunch, and then settle on the sofa for a while to watch naked TV while lunch digests. Billy isn't too sure what naked TV is, so he's a little disappointed when Dom explains they turn the TV on without the remote. With Dom's hands stroking his holiday nakedness, Billy takes a short nap, only to wake to find Dom stroking a much more celebratory part of him, and they rev up the Naked Day festivities all over again.

A Few of My Favourite Places

Billy woke slowly, feeling the bed dip first on one side of him, then the other, a strange tickling running up the outside of his leg. It disappeared and he began to doze again, until the tickling returned, high on the inside of his thigh. He started, his eyes flying open to find Dom hovering over him, a black Sharpie in hand.

"What the hell are you doing?" Billy asked, his voice gruff and low with sleep.

"Shh, I'm almost done."

"Done what? If you're drawing on me, I'll--"

"I'm not. Hold still, now."

Billy watched through gritty eyes as Dom leaned over with the marker, but traced along beside his leg, not on it. Dom's knuckles brushed Billy's foot, then his knee, then his hip, before he triumphantly climbed off the bed.

"Done. Don't get up, but if you could just roll over so I can pull the sheet off?"

"Pull the--" Billy lifted his arm and looked down. "Dom! What the fuck did you draw on the sheets for, you daft pillock? We just got these a month ago!" he yelped, then sat up, looking down at where his legs had been resting. "What did you do, sodding trace me?"

Dom looked pleased with himself. "Yeah. Now let me have the sheet."

"Why the hell did you trace me?" Billy asked, utterly bewildered. "I'm too tired for this."

Dom pulled the sheet off first one corner of the mattress, then the other. Walking around the end of the bed, he did the same thing on the other side. "So go back to sleep. Just give me the sheet first."

Billy rolled twice to allow Dom to gather the sheet up before pulling the duvet back up over himself and tucking the pillow under his head. When Dom began to spread the sheet on the floor at the end of the bed, Billy insisted, "Up here. Where I can see."

Obligingly, Dom brought the sheet around to the side of the bed and smoothed it out on the floor, allowing Billy to see the roughly outlined form drawn on it. He uncapped his Sharpie again and kneeled down, considering.

"So what is this in aid of?" Billy asked, rolling onto his side to see better.

"It's a map."

"A map of me?"

Dom nodded. "A map of all my favourite places. So I don't forget them when you're gone."

"You're barmy," Billy said quietly.

"Not inconceivable. Now, first we have your face." He leaned over and drew two eyes, crooked and oddly shaped, followed by a ridiculously long and pointy nose. "And of course we can't forget your mouth. Your mouth is definitely in the running for my favouritest place of all." He drew a rosebud mouth.

"Good thing your day job isn't being an artist," Billy commented, curling up.

"It's not an exact visual representation I'm after, you know. It's the essence of the thing." Dom cocked his head. "Now. Your hands." He moved down to better reach the lumpy blobs on the ends of the arms. With the marker he added fingers and thumbs and little brackets for knuckles, then even drew on fingernails.

Billy smiled. "That's not bad."

Dom said nothing, only drew in a line for the crease of the elbows, a small half-circle for the notch at the base of the neck, and two tiny circles surrounded by slightly larger ones on the chest.

"My nipples are a favourite place?"

He nodded, drawing curlicues for chest hair.

"Put some of that on my head, will you?"

With a little grin, Dom crawled up the side of the sheet to draw two hairs sticking out from Billy's skull.

"Oi, I've got more than that, wanker!" Billy lifted his head to glare down.

Chuckling, Dom drew in more hair, added Billy's small ears, then moved back down. He went straight for the area just above the inverted V of Billy's crotch. Tongue between his teeth, he carefully drew a large but not ridiculous penis angled slightly to the side, and two decent-sized balls peeking out from underneath. To finish it off, he drew curlicues again, smaller and tighter than before.

"Is that before or after you've been having your wicked way with me?" Billy asked curiously.

"Before. You're happy to see me, but not ready to come yet. My favourite."

Billy smiled, and continued to watch.

Dom drew rounded 7's to show Billy's hipbones, then with his finger traced inside their bounds. "Love that spot," he murmured. He drew in Billy's navel with a thin line running down from it. "Did you know that the hair there rises up in a tiny little peak?" He asked, not expecting an answer. "I can only see it when I'm right up beside it." He shuffled his way on his knees to the bottom of the sheet and looked down at his work, considering. Reaching forward, he drew in kneecaps and the knobs on Billy's ankles and the tattoo, and redrew the feet to show the arches. "Love your feet." Circling the sheet again, he continued to add in details. Muscles on the biceps, curves to show pecs, eyebrows and freckles high on the forehead, cheekbones and laughlines.

Billy watched the entire time, his eyelids lowering and his limbs growing heavier with each passing minute. "Dom?" he finally whispered.

Dom looked up, then smiled. "I love you, too. Go to sleep, Bill."

"C'mere. Give us a kiss."

Dom crawled over and knelt beside the bed. He rested his hand on Billy's cheek, then leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips. "Mmm. Definitely my favourite."

"Me too. Love you, yeah?" Billy's eyes finally closed.

"Yeah," Dom breathed, his thumb tracing the line of Billy's jaw. After a moment he returned to his map, and to the sound of gentle snores, added the curve of Billy's jaw to his map of favourite places.

Fumbling Toward Ecstasy is an epic, epic fic that starts the day Dom and Billy meet for the very first time. It charts their instant, easy friendship, their few but ferocious fights, their dates and relationships and jealousies and nights of determined drunken camaraderie after breakups. It follows the slow, almost imperceptible growth of a deep and abiding love between them, a love that is almost overlooked, so natural does it feel. It introduces a whole Fellowship of friends, some of whom are blind and some of whom are remarkably perceptive, and one of whom has the eyes to see and the nerve to speak. The story follows the realization, the argument, the hurt feelings and regrets and apologies of two stubborn men trying to get the other to admit to love first. It traces their acceptance, and shyly shows their first tentative kiss, and many kisses after that. It lets us in on moments of tender emotion, passionate lovemaking, and even a little good old-fashioned lusty sex. It follows the difficult, often uneven path to a lifetime of love.

Hee. That one got sappy, didn't it? :P
